Exciting news for The Night Series!!!

Hi everyone –

 

Wow do I have some huge news to share…

 

Ready?

 

Okay… I got a call from my fabulous editor, Kerrie-Leigh Grady, today about Night Walker, and the release dates for the rest of the Night Series.

 

Let me start by saying that my publisher, Entangled Publishing, recently partnered up with PGW, one of the largest print book distributors in the country. Anyway, they were meeting with Barnes & Noble about which Entangled titles to use for the launch of the Mass Market line in the Barnes & Noble stores…

 

AND THEY WANT NIGHT WALKER!!!! *happy dancing*

 

So in May 2012 you should be able to find Calisto in Mass Market paperback at a new lower price in Barnes & Noble’s across the country!!! WOOT!!!

 

Even better… They love the cover so we won’t have to repackage the book either!! YAY!!!

 

So in May we’ll have to have a huge virtual party and another Night Walker & Me photo contest (The Book Store edition! LOL)

 

So on to the next part of the news…

 

I HAVE RELEASE DATES!!!

 

Because of the big relaunch of Night Walker, all the rest of the books in the series have shifted a bit. I’m really bummed to make you keep waiting for Night Demon, but in order for it to be distributed to the bookstores they need time for presales sooooo….

 

 

We’re going to swap things up a bit and the Night Thief novella will be out before Night Demon! J

 

I’m putting the finishing touches on Night Thief now, and you’ll be able to grab a copy in September 2012!!! Hopefully I’ll have a new cover to share with you very soon…

 

If you want a little tease you can check out my Night Thief board on Pinterest… http://pinterest.com/ldydisney/scenes-from-night-thief/ It’s a historical paranormal romance that takes place in 1840 in Paris. Kane is an ancient Night Walker who is robbed by a beautiful French woman with dark secrets. I’m so excited that I’ll be able to share this story with you soon! Kate and Rita are also in Night Demon, so this way you can find out how they met before you meet them later.

 

So the only bummer in all of this is that Night Demon’s
release will be delayed until February of 2013, and Night Child will follow in September 2013.

 

Thank you SO much for all the support for the Night Series!!! I can’t tell you how much it means to me! J I should have the back cover blurb for Night Demon to share soon, and a cover and blurb for Night Thief too, so I’ll keep you posted…

My first Book Boyfriend was probably Lestat from Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. Sadly she made her vampires impotent, but I was pretty sure I would be the one woman who could help Lestat “rise” to the occasion! LOL

 

*ahem*

 

My second book boyfriend was Darius from Christine Feehan’s Dark Fire. He was crazy alpha, but also cared for the rest of his family so he did have a soft side that stole my heart.

 

Recently I’ve had a flurry of Book Boyfriends. Karl from Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series, and Derek from her Darkest Powers Trilogy, Shane from Jeri Smith-Ready’s WVMP Vampire series, and her yummy Scottish hero Zachary from her Shade Trilogy, and these are just to name a few…

 

My current Book Boyfriend is Calisto from Night Walker. He has loved Kate for over 200 years, waiting for her spirit to be reborn. He finds her again in Night Walker, but the past starts to repeat itself and he’s faced with giving her up in order to save her. It’s a very dark paranormal romance, and Calisto is a brooding Spanish immortal. I really fell in love with him when I wrote the book and it’s been a thrill to hear readers are embracing him as well…

 

So here’s a little sneak peek at Calisto, my Book Boyfriend…

 

Calisto took her hand, and Kate was surprised to find her fingers lacing together with his as if they’d been made to fit together as one.

 “Walk with me?” His low voice stripped away a layer of her resolve.

Kate nodded, following him down the steps to the sand below, only stopping for a moment to leave her shoes on the landing. They walked across the cool beach without saying a word, hand in hand, and Kate watched the haze float in atop the salt water. It was eerie and beautiful all in the same moment.

“You are shivering.”

Calisto’s voice added to the tremors that pulsed through her body.

Why did he have to be so perfect? He looked at her like she was the only woman in the world.

 “Am I?”

 He smiled, raising their joined hands to place a tender kiss on her knuckle, and then tugged off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.

 “Is that better?”

 Kate nodded, no longer able to speak. His masculine scent surrounded her, and before she could stop herself, she pulled his coat so tight, the cold lining spread gooseflesh across her skin.

 He slid the backs of his cool fingers down her cheek, his lips hinting at a smile. “Good.”

 Kate tilted her chin up. When he bent and brushed his lips against hers, her breath caught. Her pulse raced and electricity shot through her veins. Her skin warmed. Had she ever wanted anyone this badly?

 She brought her hand to his chest. His chiseled muscles responded to her touch, and a moan escaped her as he clutched her tighter. Calisto’s fingers slid through her hair, and her lips parted, her tongue tasting him, tangling with his until her knees buckled.

 Dear God, this man could kiss.

Seven Random Facts and a Blog Award

Howdy everyone –

During the past week or so, two author friends of mine, Bella Streetand Casey Wyattwere kind enough to award me the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award!!!

Now I’m supposed to share 7 random facts about me, and choose a few more deserving award winners. Since many of my blog friends run “Award-free” blogs, please don’t feel obligated to accept the award. I promise I won’t be hurt if you let the award pass right on by… J

So ready for my 7 random things? Ready or not, here they come…

 

1) I got a pony for Christmas in the 70′s and I changed her name to Wildfire just like the song by Michael Martin Murphy. (I wore out that record I loved that song so much! LOL) PS – Wildfire was the best pony ever…

2) I wrote my first short story in kindergarten about a big ugly giant who was really friendly. 

3) When I was between the ages of 3 and 6 years old, I was so terrified of car washes that I would verify with the adult driver that we were not going to drive through a car wash before I entered the vehicle. PS – Proud to say I drove my car through the car wash over the weekend… I’m cured! LOL

4) I chomp gum while I write. Usually trident bubble gum is my favorite. PS – I’m chomping on some now!

5) I rant at ATMs when they tell me there’s a fee…

6) I cry every time I see the movie trailer for War Horse. Not sure there is enough Kleenex for me to see the entire movie! J

7) I hate writing about myself and I’m already worried that this blog is completely dorky and boring…

One last thing… This weekend some sort of cloud of sad blueness huddled over me and my computer keyboard and lingered into Monday. Not sure why, but I had a really tough time shaking it. I’m sure they had no idea how much their words touched me when I needed to hear them most.

He sobered. “So I have not yet earned your trust.”

She swallowed the lump in her throat, reminding her of the wound hidden beneath her choker. “I am no fool. Danger has many faces.”

A muscle in his cheek jumped. “You are not, and never will be, in danger with me.”

“For my sake, I hope you mean that.”

I’m really enjoying writing Kane & Rita’s story… They’re very passionate characters that stand out in 1840′s Paris… I can’t wait to share this novella with you!!!
